WAIRAU RIVER, MARLBOROUGH

Unfortunately, the Wairau River is the subject of a proposition by Trust Power Ltd to construct a Hydro Electric Power Scheme, using this public resource to create a profit for their shareholders.

Having grown up in Marlborough I am opposed to this scheme which involves the diversion of water from the Wairau River and feel the applications should be declined unless suitable conditions are imposed.

I have donated this painting to raise funds for the purpose of opposing this most inappropriate of schemes SOLD
