RANGITATA RIVER AND MOUNT SOMERS
The Rangitata River winds up through the flat land of the Canterbury Plains and into the Gorge spreading wide at Mesopotamia before dividing into the Havelock & the Clyde Rivers to disappear into the Southern Alps.
I'm going upstream against the current as the salmon do on their epic return to spawn and die.
Mt Somers to the north always offers her pleasing profile.
