ANAKOHA BAY, MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS

Anakoha Bay was the site of a timber mill when I was growing up in the Sounds during the 1950's 60's. The posts in the foreground are remains of the landing at the end of a small rail system used to carry the sawn timber.

The blue distant hills are part of Forsyth Island, separated from the mainland by Allen Strait.
