Confluence of the Poulter and  Waimakariri Rivers
I was staying at Flock Hill Station with some other painters and went off on the Mt White road early in the morning...........blowing a Nor' Wester, so got over the bank and painted this wonderful view of mingling waters, overshadowed by Whale Hill
At the point where the river disappears the Esk River also joins the Waimakariri from the left before heading out to sea through the gorge and over the plains.
At top left is Chest Peak highest of the Puketeraki Range.........
