Waihi Peak and Blue Mt from Red Cottage,Gapes Valley

This is a view looking North from the bottom of Gapes Valley, southerly cloud just emerging and completely clouded over by the time I had finished.

It is one of the challenges of painting on site as I do, the subject is a changing one, hence the rather messy style I have developed.

Although when framed these works usually have a bit of life to them and a feel of the place, rather than a meticulously rendered photograph that ends up dead on the page.
