Early Spring, Mt Somers
When driving on the inland South Canterbury road and take Thompson's Track which heads across to Rakaia this is the view to the north.
On viewing a painting an often overheard remark will be that I paint the mountains too blue but have a close look on a frosty morning....vibrant electric blue, an optical illusion as the landscape becomes more distant.
